Before you buy a used car
Do some research into the different makes and models available, take your time and choose carefully.
Here are some things to consider:
- Your needs. What will you use the car for? Is it for family use? Are you going to drive in the bush, or travel on long distance trips? Or are you going to drive mainly in the city? Do you need a larger vehicle to carry equipment or work related machinery? All these things will determine what type of car you need. This will narrow down your options to specific vehicles and eliminate wasting time looking at unnecessary vehicles.

- Security. Ask us about the security features in the vehicle, how easy is it to steal or break into? What security features is the car equipped with? Security scores are available from insurance providers such as NRMA and Allianz.
- Insurance: The cost of insurance premium you pay on a used car will vary from model to model. Once you've narrowed down your options contact insurance providers and get some quotes.
